Comfortable and Capable Compact SUV with Modernly Retro Styling
Ford offers a pair of Bronco models, the Bronco and the Bronco Sport. The latter is the pavement-ready model that’s a perfect daily driver thanks to its comfortable interior, high-tech features, and a fuel-efficient powertrain. Lovingly referred to as the “Baby Bronco,” the Bronco Sport is ready for off-road trails thanks to the standard drive modes and optional all-terrain tires.
You can experience the 2024 Bronco Sport and the bigger Bronco at Livermore Ford, where you can arrange a test drive around Pleasanton and Ulmar.
Interior and Performance Tech Enhancing the Ride
The 2024 Bronco Sport is available in five trims, including the new Free Wheeling model with the retro stripes and styling that was originally offered in the 1970s. Ford is also offering a new Big Bend model with a Black Appearance package, and the automaker is offering new paint colors: Azure Gray and Desert Sand.
The Ford Bronco Sport interior begins with the Big Bend trim level and includes an 8.4-inch touchscreen with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, several USB ports, voice recognition, six speakers, and SiriusXM Satellite Radio. Convenience tech features include automatic climate control, proximity keyless entry, and a push-button start.
The automaker adds Forward Collision Warning, Forward Automatic Emergency Braking, Lane-Departure Warning, Lane-Keep Assist, Rear Cross-Traffic Alert with Blind-Spot Monitoring, a Rearview Camera, and Automatic High-Beam Headlights. Available options include Stop-and-Go Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane-Centering Assist, Rear Parking Sensors, and more.
The Outer Banks trim adds a 6.5-inch digital instrument display, remote start, ambient interior lighting, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror. Drivers can add the optional package with a 10-speaker Bang & Olufsen stereo, wireless device charging, and universal garage door opener.
Powering the Off-Road-Ready Bronco Sport
Performance technology in the 2024 Bronco Sport begins with a turbocharged 1.5-liter three-cylinder engine with 181 horsepower. Drivers can choose models with the turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with 250 horsepower. The entry-level engine gets an EPA-estimated fuel rating of 25/28 MPG, while the 2.0-liter engine gets an EPA-estimated 21/26 MPG.
The 2024 Ford Bronco Sport towing capacity is 2,200 pounds on models with the 2.0-liter engine. Those outfitted with the 1.5-liter engine can tow up to 2,000 pounds.
Drivers who want to take their Bronco Sport on dirt should check out the features in the Badlands models. The top trim has torque-vectoring all-wheel drive, an off-road suspension with 8.8 inches of ground clearance, 29-inch all-terrain tires, front tow hooks, two trail driving modes (Mud/Ruts and Rock Crawl), and skid plates. While it might not handle the same terrain as the Bronco, the Bronco Sport will manage rough roads and mildly rugged trails with ease.
